Alexander Taylor
Biography
Born in 1975 in north east England, Taylor studied furniture and product design at Nottingham Trent University. He began his career with London-based architects Procter Rihl before setting up his studio in 2002 to realise his own designs.
Development of the hm44 range with Hitch Mylius started in 2003. Taylor’s awards have included Elle Decoration Young Designer of the Year in 2005, and his designs have been acquired for the New York Museum of Modern Art’s permanent collection. As well as designing for manufacture, Taylor also lectures and has run workshops in the UK and abroad.
